He believes in "thinking globally but acting locally" to change the society through the influence of the local church. Tony and his wife Lawana live in Louisiana. They have five children and three grandchildren.

Tony Mac, a passionate family man and a road safety advocate always made time for his family and friends. He was a faithful husband, father and brother who would be there for you whenever you needed him. He was a great companion and could make you laugh, even on your worst day. He is survived by his daughter Holly Ranee Hunter, son Travis Lynn Hunter as well as his mother Lynda Phelps Hunter. Additionally, he leaves behind his sisters Ronahkaye Shrum, a.k.a. Mopsy and his nephews Zackary Hunter and Adrian Hunter.
